At FrontierView, we embrace the idea that each member of our team contributes something unique and valuable for our clients and company. Each month, we feature a member of our global team whose current work is driving growth outcomes for our clients.

Director, Latin America Research, Pablo González Alonso

Pablo is based out of our Washington, D.C. office and has been with us for over five years. He studied business administration as an undergraduate at Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid. After spending a few years working in corporate finance in Mexico, Brazil and Spain he went on to receive an MA in international relations and economics, Latin American studies at The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.

Pablo is an indispensable resource for our clients. His work focuses on helping executives stay abreast of key political, economic, and market developments affecting their business in Latin America. He also advises clients on strategic decisions, including market prioritization, go-to-market strategy, digital transformation, and organizational footprint in Latin America.

Covering what is likely the most volatile emerging market region, Pablo is a strong advocate of scenario and contingency planning; an approach that he incorporates in his own team’s economic forecasting methodology.

Rather than total certainty on what is going to happen, what companies really need is clarity on the signposts that could lead to alternative realities, so they can act upon those signposts and stay ahead of their competitors.

The work that Pablo’s team conducts is oftentimes disrupted by unexpected market events, but in Pablo’s words “being surrounded by such a talented group of individuals gives me peace of mind that we will always be able to stay on top of our game no matter what comes to us.”

Fun Fact: Pablo can get very passionate about forecasting, but even more about following Spain’s national soccer team in international tournaments around the world, including South Africa’s world cup in 2010, Poland’s Eurocup in 2012, and Brazil’s world cup in 2014.
